Tom & Jerry (duo)

1957

Related “inside” names tied to that era: Tom Graph (Art Garfunkel) and Jerry Landis (Paul Simon).

Tom & Jerry continues (their 1957–1960 period).

Simon and Garfunkel have signed this circa 1957 original promotional photograph, signed to promoter Sid Prose's "Big Records" when they were 15 years old, and still in high school at Forest Hills

High School under their "Tom and Jerry" stage names. Simon has written, "Good luck! Tommy Graph" and Garfunkel has signed "Bob Best Wishes Tom & Jerry".
Simon and Garfunkel assumed the name Tom & Jerry; Garfunkel named himself Tom Graph, a reference to his interest in mathematics, and Simon Jerry Landis, after the surname of a girl he had dated.

In 1958 on January 25th, Tom & Jerry were performing their hit ‘ Hey Schoolgirl ‘ during a show at Hartford’s State Theatre

This photo was taken in Baltimore with Simon & Garfunkel, then known as Tom & Jerry. They were the opening act for Tommy Mara. Buddy Dean, the most popular DJ of his time, was the DJ.

lyrics in Art Garfunkel's hand for the song "That's My Story", which was recorded by the pair when they sang as "Tom & Jerry". The music and lyrics are contained

in fine lined pages of staff paper, and read in part:

"...My story really begins a month ago, That's when I first saw you, your eyes were aglow, And then I could see that you were for me. I go to sleep at night and dream of you,

I wish I could hold you tight the whole night through. But then I awake (my heart could just break) I can't tell you I love you...".

he music was originally signed by Garfunkel at top, where "Words & Music By" credited their stage names, Tom Graph and Jerry Landis, but a cretinous former collector has erased their names

and penciled in "Paul Simon and Arthur Garfunkel". At the bottom, is listed promoter Sid Prosen's "Village Music Co." and dated 1958,
