Paul Simon appeared at The New Yorker Festival for a public Q&A conversation with Paul Muldoon, the magazine’s poetry editor. The event focused on Simon’s songwriting craft, his influences, and the evolution of his career. Audience questions were gathered in advance through social media using the hashtag #AskPaulSimon, and selected questions were asked during the live exchange. Rather than a concert, this session offered a rare opportunity to hear Simon discuss his creative process in detail, reflecting on lyrics, musical ideas, and artistic choices. Parts of the discussion were later referenced or adapted for New Yorker audio content. |
